These days, the fashion world can count ‘chic mummies’ among its inhabitants. Of course, our adorable little darlings require a lot of energy, attention, and sacrifices but with the rise of the chic mummy in the media, rocking up to the school gate in old jogging bottoms just doesn’t cut it!
The chic mummy is the ultimate multi-tasker; a dedicated mum juggling work and life without sacrificing her looks… Sounds exhausting to us! We turned to our very own chic mummy Eléonore, our Assistant Director (and shoe addict) for advice.
Impeccably dressed, our favourite fashion mum combines classic style with killer details: we’re likely to spot her in glam over-the-knee boots, killer heels or colourful New Balances, she rocks them all!
Sarenza: Eléonore, please introduce yourself!
Eléonore: I am Assistant Director at Sarenza, specifically in charge of sales and online marketing. In life, I’m a Parisian mother of two boys aged 12 and 10, and I have a real addiction to shoes (I have a good sixty pairs in my wardrobe!) My new year’s resolutions for January are: eat (a little) less sugar, take more photos and obviously find more amazing shoes to add to my collection…
Sarenza: Your style?
Eléonore: Classic Mum, but with a little twist! I try not to fall in the total mum cliché of jeans/boots/cashmere jumper. I love the combination of a dress with boots and a statement necklace to go to work (I have a thing for boots!) To take my sons to their respective sports sessions, I opt instead for nice jeans, a white shirt and a long cardigan with my favourite trainers, the New Balance M400. I still make sure I reserve a little time to go out in the evenings, and then, I get out my 10cm heels (my favourites are L.K. Bennett Shilo), black jumpsuit with a bit of cleavage, and a glittery clutch such as the Mellow Yellow Mestage .
S: Any sale purchases?
E: I spend a lot of time browsing online… and then I come across something that I didn’t plan on buying and I can’t resist. In short, I am a reasonable compulso-buyer (thats not a word!) I make sure my boys are well-equipped looking for style and quality, then I make sure there’s enough left over to treat myself.
S: If you were a shoe?
E: A boot of course! With a reasonable heel to elongate the leg, and to run for the tube!
S: The Spring/Summer 2014 trend that you’re most excited about?
E: The gold trend. A pair of golden metallic sandals with sun kissed limbs is so chic! Not so easy for me with my pale skin though!
