Bright Ideas

The 80s are far from being a fashion friendly decade. Headbands, leg warmers, sports jackets and mullets have, much like many 80s popstars, never managed to make much of a comeback. But one 80s inspired trend that has reappeared on catwalks this season is neon. From high end designer brands to our favorite high street stores everyone has introduced these fabulously vibrant colors to their spring/summer pieces and fashion-savvy is no exception.

Bringing an electrified spring to your step our selection of neon footwear is a mix of daring women’s high heel shoes, trendy trainers and to-die-for handbags.

My first pick is an adventurous choice designed by the extravagant Jeffrey Campbell. A summer time wedge with a twist. Perfect for a summer night out with a black jump suit or dressed down with slims a white tee and jean jacket:

Jeffrey Campbell Tanya, £102

This Michael by Michael Kors tote bag is a must have this year on holiday. A great piece to transition from the beach to the bar. A couture bag at a democratic price available in two flashy neon colors (orange and green), quite the dilemma!

Michael by Michael Kors Jet set ns tote, £130

Continuing with the “beachy” feel, these Visconti & du Réau sandals are the perfect way to add a fashion edge to a simple outfit.

Visconti and du Reau Jamaica, £192

Neon has also burst onto the sporting scene with these forever popular wedge trainers. A feminin alternative to compliment a casual look. Perfect for the wardrobe confusing transition  that is Autmn :

Serafini Manhattan Fluo, £212.50

Last but not least my personnal favoriate the Steve Madden “cartable” avaible in 3 amazing colors (I may or may not have ordered the orange model yesterday…) An affordable fashionable piece

Steve Madden Bpandora, £42.50

The neon trend has invaded almost every aspect of our summer wardrobe and seems like it’s here to stay through the winter months!
