How to optimise my summer luggage space

Each summer, it’s always the same thing! When it’s time to check in (at a destination of my dreams), the weight of my luggage stresses me out a little bit. I can see the kilos scrolling on the screen of the airport’s scales …

I’m lucky I’ve never exceeded the number of kilos allowed, but to avoid this moment of intense stress before boarding, I’ve decided to pack a little bit lighter! And what takes up so much space? The shoes of course!

I don’t know if you tend to exaggerate a little bit in terms of shoes when you go on holidays, but as far as I’m concerned, I do!  I’m sooooo bad at choosing what pair to bring for a weeklong trip out of town. According to my entourage, I bring way too many shoes.  So this year, I’ve decided to op-ti-mise my summer luggage space by finding pairs I’d wear for different kinds of occasions during my holidays. I’d go for a 2 in 1 pair of shoes.  Let me give you more explanation…

I do love this pair of ballet pumps from Carvela, so I’d go for this kind of shoes for both dancing and dinner at a restaurant. They’re flat, so comfy, and shiny, so they will definitely go with either a pair of jeans or a black dress.

I’ve made a selection of my 2 in 1 summer must-haves :-)

A pair of cute flip flops from I Love Shoes you’d wear to go the beach, to the hotel’s swimming pool or to go purchase an ice cream at the street corner.

No holiday without a pair of high heels! So I’d go for a Tanya Heath style with an interchangeable heel.  1 pair that can look like 3 different ones! This is magic, isn’t?

Or these Mellow Yellow shoes, perfect to go in town and do some holiday shopping! They can also be useful for special events or activities.

And a pair of these lovely wellies from Spot On hidden in the inside pocket of your suitcase…you’ll be the only one to know of their existence. If someone dares to say that you are pessimistic, just say that you are pragmatic… we can never know what the weather will be like :-)

Enjoy your holidays.
