After the wonderful Indian summer days, the inevitable arrival of Autumn has had us digging out our old coats and jackets from the back of the closet. As ever with the changing of seasons, our wardrobe suddenly feels a little behind the times, but if there is one item guaranteed to instantly update your look without breaking the bank, it is a stylish winter shoe.
Of course with every season, there is a whole host of ‘hot trends’ being talked about from snakeskin patterns to over the knee boots. But today I’m covering your every day stylish shoe, with last year’s favourites, Brogues and Chelsea boots, still very much at the forefront, whilst Riding boots and Wedge boots are back and making their mark!
Simple and sophisticated, these Karmel brogues from Georgia Rose are exactly what I look for, when hunting out the perfect brogue. Subtle detailing, a small heel and great shape, they work with genuinely anything from business wear to pretty dresses.
However, if you’re looking for a brogue that is a bit more out there, Georgia Rose is of course also happy to supply, with these ever on-trend leopard print brogues being a massive hit in the Sarenza office.
Jeffery Campbell’s Area Chelsea boots are very 2011, being slightly longer than last year’s version of the style and available in black, grey and ‘rust’ instead of the run of the mill tan shade that was everywhere last year. Jeffrey Campbell is one of my absolute favourite designers at Sarenza, making one-of-a-style (mostly!) wearable shoes at genuinely reasonable price tags.
How classic are these Mara Sand GTX riding boots from Clarks? No fuss, no frills, just a perfectly crafted shoe from one of Britain’s oldest shoe makers. Super sophisticated, these will look amazing with some skinnies tucked in.
Ok, so they may not look like an everyday shoe, but actually wedges are the greatest gift the shoe industry has given to short women in a long time! Amazingly comfy, these Seventies boots from Buffalo will see you from day to night, no questions asked. I personally prefer the ‘smoke’ shade, but they are also available in black for a more classic look.
Also, I don’t know if this is a real trend or just my own obsession, but I can’t get enough of these lace up boots with small rubber heels?! Anyone else with me on this one? If so, then check out these Klorette boots from Mellow Yellow as well as the Dee by French Connection. If I don’t purchase one of these pairs before the end of the month I will be very surprised.
