C’est la rentrée!

“C’est la rentrée”, which literally translates as “the return” in French. It’s when everyone comes back to Paris after the summer, in the UK we think of it as mainly referring to students but in France it applies to adults too. Vacations are very important here and Parisians are usually away from August until September, leaving the city free for tourists. I just got back from my mini road trip from Bordeaux to Madrid. I was away for two weeks taking in the sunshine, tapas and beaches
.
While I had an amazing time on my holiday, it’s good to be back in Paris, especially now the stores are filled with Autumn/Winter stock. It’s the perfect time to prepare my rentrée look. I am still in love with my Jeffrey Cambell Brogues (I’m wearing them now) and after seeing Hazels post it’s confirmed that androgyny is my new thing!
Say hello to beanies, large trousers, oversized jumpers, blazers and all that is boyish!! I’ve always been a fan of this look and I can’t wait to see how far I can take it. I also love the 50’s/pin up inspired style so I’ll probably mix in a few head ties, some red lippy and chignons, while filling in my eyebrows and finding a bowtie and some braces! My take on the androgynous look is all about getting the right balance between masculine and feminine so I’m all for mixing and matching different styles!
As you can see, right now I am wearing an old oversized blazer and a plain jumpsuit. I added a black eye liner and one of my favourite headties.
La rentrée is also about being ready for the new season and paricularly the weather change! Since its dropped about 10°C I will be wrapping up warm.
Although I love my pair of brogues I also have my eyes set on these Georgia Rose beauties,I think they work really well with the androdynous look and I love the colour:
And for the rockers out there, these Jeffrey Campbell studded brogues are a web exclusive:
