Last year brogues made a huge impact on the autumn winter fashion scene and by the end of the season, they had become as big a staple wardrobe piece as boots, pumps or the Mariniere top for the Parisians
If you too were a fan of this trend, then I’ve got great news…brogues are back for 2011 and they’re even bigger and better than before!
The great thing about brogues is that they make for a really great alternative flat shoe when you want something a bit more edgy than ballet pumps. They also work well with so many different looks including the boyfriend look, which I’m hoping to try this autumn.
Never ones to miss a beat on the fashion up take, team UK have all been seen wearing their brogues today.
I certainly need no excuse to get out my favourite pair Juddy by Emma Go, which you may remember me talking about back in July in my blog Pretty in Pink with Emma Go! I have probably gone with one of the girliest outfits of all time here, with my pink floral playsuit…not very boyfriend look, but still the brogues are a great match – proof that they are a versatile style for any outfit!
Eléonore, our International Director has a brand new pair of brogues called Karmel by one of our favourite brands Georgia Rose. Even though Georgia Rose is known for quite feminine designs usually, these ones are really strong and make for great office shoes, (She only let me take a pic of her shoes, but she is rocking a fab trouser suit and waistcoat with these shoes and the whole ensemble really works well together!)
Our UK newbie Jess is also sporting an awesome pair of brogues today, (quite uncharacteristically, usually she is in 6 inch heels!) Her shoes are matched with demin shorts, tights and a blazer, which is a modern take on the girl/boy look, but again it looks great!
So we’ve gone with a playsuit, a trouser suit and demin shorts and a blazer. Three completely different ways to wear brogues! In the season to come I hope to be adopting a few more pairs myself, so I can work different outfits. If you wanna see our entire collection of brogues then click here.
Will you be wearing the lace up look for the new season? How do you like to style yours?
