Since taking over as blog Editor, I realise I’ve been slightly gender biased when it comes to our posts. Simon our Country Manager left in June and since then it’s just been the three of us ruling the roost. Whilst we girls may “run the world” or at least the UK site, we admit that when it comes to shoes, a real boy is probably going to know slightly more than us.
When my three guy mates came to visit me in Paris last weekend, they kindly *volunteered* to let me snap them and gave me an insight about their favourite shoe styles . Not only are these lovely gentlemen three of my closest friends, but they also happen to be three of the most stylish guys I know (maybe it’s because they learnt everything from me ), so you’re in fantastic hands when it comes to their advice!
Ian: Lace up boots
Ian is a boho boy after my own heart with a vintage wardrobe and a bit of eccentricity thrown in. He even managed to channel some effortless French chic during his visit and wore the standard Mariniere top with a classic pair of lace up boots. All he needs is a coffee in his hand and he could be mistaken for a real life French hottie!
Ian: “I have to give a special mention to my Dad, they were his boots first and I stole them for the weekend. He bought them about twenty years ago and they’re still going strong!”
Talk about having a timeless style! Whilst Ian owns a vintage pair, you can find your very own brand new ones from Clarks Originals, right here at Sarenza.
Dom is a huge sports fan, so it comes as no surprise that he goes for clothes on the more sporty casual side. Whether watching footie in the comfort of his own flat or playing it in the park, he can always be seen wearing the latest pair of trainers.
Dom: “Trainers combine comfort which is important especially if you’re going to be wearing them all day, but it also means you can show off as well. Seeing as loads of trainers are different, there is something suited for everyone. For guys, trainers are the shoe equivalent of heels with added comfort!”
Dom is naturally a pretty handsome guy if I do say so myself and rocks the sporty casual look to perfection. In these pics he can be seen wearing a pair of Adidas Originals trainers, which he has teamed up with jeans and a classic polo shirt.
Justin: Canvas shoes
Justin is not only an avid follower of our blog, but he’s also a loyal Sarenza customer too! In these pics he’s sporting his latest purchase from us; a pair of Bennie shoes by Original Penguins, who he says are his favourite brand out of our entire range.
Justin says: “Original Penguin canvas shoes are edgy and smart enough to dress up with a shirt and jeans, but also casual enough to wear with jeans and t-shirt. Plus they are comfy and come in a range of cool colours and prints.”
Justin is also a bit of a self confessed male fashionista and takes great pride in the finishing touches to all of his outfits. Note how he has teamed two colour co-ordinating t-shirts to match his different coloured laces? That right there is some serious style savoir-faire!
I couldn’t possibly choose a favourite out of all of these and not just because they are all my mates, but because they each look fantastic in their individual styles. If you want to walk a mile in any one of their shoes, then click here to see our vast Sarenza men’s shoe closet.
Boys, what shoes do you normally go for? And girls, what shoes do you like to see the men in your life wear?
