Fish and Ships : Delectable shoes from Base London

When I started working at Sarenza I never thought I would have the opportunity to contribute to the blog, so when Béatrice, our web marketing director suggested I write something, I jumped at the chance to share my love of trainers!
Before I get started, allow me to introduce myself properly; my name is Mickael and I’m 32 years old. I am one of the web designers at Sarenza and have a passion for denim, street culture, customising my own fashion and photography.
For my first blog I would like to present Fish and Ships. It’s not the beloved patriotic dish that has me salivating, but the brand new collection from Base London.
Base London first hit the high street in 1995, a time when men’s lifestyle magazines such as FHM, were starting to become popular. Like its name suggests, the label comes straight from London and has established its own cool urban style, which is both sporty and casual, whilst having a masculine stance.
Their new collection ‘Fish and Ships’ is a real visual treat.
Two styles which have caught my attention are:
PEAS, which is leather shoe with geometric shapes inspired by pop art from the 1980’s:

And “Ketchup” from the Fish and Ships collection in this multi coloured version. The chequered look is really on trend right now and is sure to charm those who like the “lumberjack” look.
So, trendy pop art or fashionable cheques, which one do you prefer? …I chose both!
