When I think about summer footwear, one of my favourites will always be the wedge, in particular the espadrille.
The espadrille is a hardworking number: it adds a little height without the potential ‘stuck in the grass’ mishap of a stiletto. Therefore they’re a perfect choice for picnics in the park, garden weddings and a day at the races alike.
It’s a style that always makes me feel feminine and one that I can walk in for hours – great for when you’re on holiday and you want to explore, or go for a long stroll by the beach. The wedge is carefree summer dressing at its best – I always pack a pair for any holiday in the sun.
Castaner, the famous Spanish brand, has been making espadrilles since the 1920’s and has supplied shoes for YSL. They’re one of the most comfortable styles I’ve ever worn and I’m looking forward to trying on the Hola for size – especially in the stunning Hermès-esque shade of orange!
